Thank You Poll Workers!

Poll Workers are one of the many mechanisms necessary for a successful election. They are a valued asset to Cherokee County Board of Elections.

Cherokee County has been proud and privileged to attract some of the most hard-working Poll Workers in the State of Georgia. When called upon to provide assistance, our Poll Workers have diligently and conscientiously served Cherokee County industriously throughout the years. Their work remains a source of pride for the Board of Elections.

This year, there have been some slight changes to voting, i.e., voters will not be allowed to cast absentee ballots in person on the Monday before Election Day and voters may request an absentee ballot by mail starting 180 days before an Election Day without providing a valid reason.

Some names and locations of precincts have changed. Additionally, we will use ExpressPolls in the upcoming election year. We are certain our Poll Workers will have no problems adapting.

Advance Voting will be located at 3 satellite locations for the convenience of our Cherokee County Voters. Voters are not required to have a reason to vote during this week; but they will be required to complete an application and present an acceptable form of ID.

We extend our gratitude to all who have participated in the past and most recently for their superb work at the Canton and Woodstock Municipal elections: Mary Edwards, Carol & Leonard Lewis, Linda McFarland, Kim Stancil, and Tamara Trull. We extend a welcome to all Cherokee County registered voters who may wish to participate in the future. (Please note dates for 2008 Elections on insert.)
